I’m On Fire
Another day means a new start. Yesterday is gone. Today has come. Who knows what today holds for you? Be encouraged. Keep moving. Keep knocking on the door. Keep asking the questions. Keep looking for what you want. Keep expecting better. Keep anticipating. Keep your head up. Keep your shoulders squared. Keep your back straightened. Keep your spirit high. Keep your mind attentive.
Life might feel for you right now of being just a circle. You feel as if you are just going around and around. Life for you feels to be just a circle of the same old routine. You wake up. Fight with your spouse, nothing new there. You prepare the kids for their day, nothing new there. You make it to work feeling under paid and over worked for all the crap you put up with, nothing new there. Bill collectors are calling asking for money that you don’t have, nothing new there. Your love life is all but nonexistent, nothing new there.
Your life might feel like a circle of meaningless repetition, but whether each round gets higher and higher or lower and lower will depend a lot on your attitude. And your attitude is the one thing that you can control. Trust me when I tell you. I have seen people with easy lives not be happy. And I have watched people with nothing glow as if they had everything.
Keep moving. Go through your valleys and not just to your valleys. Everyone’s days are filled with highs and lows, good and bad, joys and sorrows. As always, if you are going through hell, keep going. You may exit hell with your robe on fire, but getting through you must. Give the saying, “I’m on fire” a new meaning. Let it be your theme song, “I’ve been through the fire.”
