Are You Saved?
Saved from what? The question alone assumes that you are in some type of danger. In danger of what, you ask? What could a person who has education, properties, stocks, cars, houses, popularity, fame, family and friends, possibly be in danger of? You are in danger of having success without knowing significance. You are in danger living without true purpose. You are in danger of living both now and forever without God.
When I ask the question, “Are you saved?”, I want to know, have you dealt with the single most important issue in your life today. Are you living without God right now, and are you at risk at living without God forever? Are you saved? Are you living right now, today, without God? Are you making decisions independent of God? Are you saved? Are you living out your life on your own terms? Are you a self made man or woman? Are you hoping and wishing for the best? Do you have your fingers crossed with a horseshoe, rabbit’s foot and a four-leaf clover in your possession? If so, then you are living dangerously, even perilously, a life without God.
And when you die, will you live forever with God? This is not morbid thinking. This is reality. We will die. Answer the question. Will you live with God forever? Again, if you are just doing your best and just hoping and wishing that you live with God forever, then you are at great risk. This should not be a matter of uncertainty. You should and can know where you are going.
Every person has the problem of sin. Our sin has separated us from God. And sin, so separating us from God, has rendered it impossible for us to get back to Him on our own. God, knowing this, provided the way back to Him through Jesus, Who through dying paid the price for our sin, to get us back into relationship with God. Now by trusting Jesus, as the One Who did for you that which you could not do for yourself, you no longer have to live this life without God, nor die and live without God forever. You can be saved. But just as you can live without God now, you can also live without God forever. The question for us is not “Shall we live forever?” We shall all live forever beyond the grave. The only thing in question is your final destination. Are you saved?
