Our Darkest Secrets

Jesus came into this world on a search and rescue mission. He came seeking and searching for those who are lost. This is the most important rescue ever launched. What a thought, “Jesus came searching for me and for you.” That’s amazing. And me saying that it’s amazing is an understatement. If I ever got lost in the woods, there is no real reason for anyone to come looking for me. A guy once said in anger that he was leaving the city so that his family would miss him. I told him not to do that. There was a good chance that no one would come looking for him because no one would even notice that he was gone.

Not only does God come searching for us, but He also searches us. God not only looks for us but looks within us. Think deeply about this. God already knows all things. He never learns anything new. However, God knows us in such a way that it is as if He has investigated and x-rayed every piece and part of our lives and bodies. Remember, God has counted the very hairs on your head. Who else has such love and interest in you that they have taken the time to count the hairs on your head?

God even knows our every move. I’m not talking about like a stalker, who watches you from place to place. God knows when you sit down and get up. God notices everything about you. Nothing slips by His attention. You never have to parade around the house or go strutting down the aisle to get God’s attention. God is so interested in you that even the things you do subconsciously, without you realizing it, He is very conscious of. God knows your thoughts before you think them. God knows you.

God watches and knows about you, not only because He’s God, but because He cares. Jesus once talked to a woman and revealed to her that He knew everything about her. Instead of her being ashamed and afraid, she went about telling everyone to come see a man who told me everything that I have ever done. She went away feeling loved as a result of such knowledge. So loved that she wanted others to know about it.

So many of you are suffering because of your secrets. Sick because of suppression and hiding. Sick from your secrets. You’re lonely, because of your skeletons. You are downcast from your indiscretions. The sadness in your eyes and the frown on your face betrays the cemetery in your soul. Grave plot after grave plot marked with tombstones of secrets.

Good news. God knows about it. God knew about it. He’s always known about it. You’ve always wanted to be able to tell somebody. You wanted someone else to know about it. You wanted somebody to know without fear of relationship termination or finger pointing condemnation. God knows and still cares. God knows and still loves you just the same. Your knowledge now of what God knows about you, should bring joy to your soul. Such intricate intimate interest in you by God should quiet any and every doubt no matter the enemy or the situation. When a person knows everything, then no one can bring anything against you to that person. That’s liberating. Talk it out with God, not to change your past, but rather to claim your future.
