Shut It Down
My phone is hanging and becoming very slow and uncooperative. So, I power it down for a little while. Then, I power it back up and all is well. My computer stopped being as responsive as it usually has been and so I shut it down temporarily and then boot it back up. Again, all is well. The Internet service is thinking and thinking, as if it cannot make up its mind about doing what I commanded it to do, so I unplug it and then plug it back up. And now my Internet service is working just fine. And remember, each of these devices or services, got back, up and running, by simply shutting them down.
If you are feeling slow and lethargic today, if you are not humming along as you usually do or should, it might be time for you to unplug and just shut down, if only for a moment. You will be amazed at how just a little down time can get you back up and running with amazing efficiency. Unplug. Disengage. Step away. Power down. Feel better.
The beauty of what I’m suggesting is that you may not need a new cell phone, computer or Internet service. The problem might just be that you have been up and running with so many different programs operating at the same time, that somehow your internal system is just bogged down and needs a chance to “reboot” so that it can start over and work with greater efficiency. So, try it! You’d be surprised to find out that a quick power down can be the power up you’ve really needed.
Ok. Here we go. This is what you can do. Turn off the phone or put it away for a while. Do this especially if your phone is just for personal use. Turn it off. Don’t worry about the latest gossip, twitter, email, snap chat, text or alert. Unplug long enough to regain your sanity. Give your senses a rest. Let it go. The world will not end because you are unavailable for the next five minutes.
Take some time today to unplug from all the stimuli that’s draining you. Energy, power and efficiency is not only found in what you do, it’s also found in finding what not to do. Disengage temporarily even, for a better you today.
