I’m Not Going
Socrates said, “The secret to change is to focus all your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Think about that for a minute or two. How much of your time, energy and resources are spent, that is, wasted addressing people or issues that ultimately will not contribute to the final desired outcome of your day and life. Just think about it. What fight are you in right now, that even if you were to win, still would not add one brick to the house you are trying to build? What old issues are you still worried and wrestling over, that in the end will not add one iota to your happiness and fulfillment?
Today’s supplement is simple to understand. Stop putting energy into negative people and situations. Stop getting on other folks agendas. Stop throwing your bricks at other folk, thereby, subtracting from your own dream resource inventory. Just stop why don’t you! Stop wasting last nights rest and restoration on today’s foolishness. Stop giving away your most precious commodity of time only to walk away in an emotional and spiritual deficit because of unneeded withdrawals you have allowed to be made from your bank account.
Work on your life, your dream and your vision. Everything else is a distraction. Deal quickly with these (distractions) and then get back to working on your own plans. At the end of the day, have more to talk about than, he said and she said. Go to bed tired tonight. But go to bed knowing that you have laid one more brick or at least took one more step towards your own life’s purpose and fulfillment.
Are you angrier about what someone else is doing than you are happy about you are doing? If you are not soaring because of what you are doing, more than you are dragging around because of what someone else is doing, something needs to change with you. Focus on you and what you are doing. At work, focus on your job. On breaks, focus on your dreams. So, whether it’s a huge step in the direction of your passion or just a small step, every inch matters. Don’t turn around every time a horn blows. Don’t jump every time a dog barks. Don’t answer every time the phone sounds off. Don’t react every time for any and every cause. Do your best to keep your eyes piercingly focused on your desired outcome.
